New Border Measures of COVID-19 (Review on the requirement of the certificate of negative result of pre-departure test)

On August 25th, the details of the review of border measures regarding the new coronavirus infection were announced.
1. Revision of submission of pre-departure inspection certificate
After 0:00 a.m. on September 7 (Japan time), all returnees and immigrants who have a valid vaccination certificate will not be required to submit the COVID-19 negative test certificate within 72 hours before departure.

Due to the spread of the highly transmissible variant of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), protective measures are being put in place for people entering Japan. These measures include presenting negative test results upon entry, restrictions on entry from places with high variant transmission rates, and quarantine measures upon arrival at Japanese airports and ports.
