Yasuko Lehtinen and Hiroko Harada received the 2022 Foreign Minister's Commendation

On August 10, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the winners of the 2022 Foreign Minister's Commendation.
Yasuko Lehtinen (Kenai Peninsula College) and Hiroko Harada (University of Alaska, Anchorage) were selected from the state of Alaska for their achievements in teaching Japanese in the United States of America.
The Foreign Minister’s Commendations are awarded to individuals and groups with outstanding achievements in international fields, in order to acknowledge their contributions to the promotion of friendship between Japan and other countries. The Commendations also aim to promote the understanding and support of the Japanese public for the activities of the recipients.
The Consular Office of Japan would like to extend a heartfelt admiration to Yasuko Lehtinen and Hiroko Harada, and express our deepest respect for their achievements.
