Mr. Aniya exchanged views with Ms. Julie Decker, Director of the Anchorage Museum

On April 25, Mr. Aniya exchanged views with Ms. Julie Decker, Director of the Anchorage Museum. Consul Nishizawa and Mr. Howard, staff members from the Consular Office, also attended the meeting.
Mr. Aniya mentioned that the Emperor's Birthday Celebration Reception held at the Anchorage Museum in February this year was well received and successful, the Consular Office also held other events to promote friendly relations between Japan and Alaska such as the 'Online Arctic Symposium,' the Consular Office would like to promote cooperation with the Anchorage Museum for the promotion of friendly relations between Japan and the United States, and that it may be possible to plan a cultural exchange between Anchorage Museum staff members and leaders from the Chitose Ainu Association, or, in the future, co-host an event between the Anchorage Museum and a Japanese museum.
Ms. Decker said that the Anchorage Museum was also interested in activities such as group exchanges with Ainu people and co-sponsoring events, and would like to exchange ideas with the Consular Office to realize specific projects in the future.
