2025/8/7

On Thursday, July 31st, two Alaskans began their journey to Japan to participate in the 39th annual JET Program.
One heading to Shizuoka, the other Hokkaido, the two will spend at least a year living and working in Japan both as English teachers and as cultural ambassadors between their old home and new.
Thursday's events began with an orientation explaining what they can expect in their first days in Japan, followed by a farewell reception to celebrate their accomplishments and wish them well for the next chapter in their lives.
The Consular Office in Japan is proud to have been a part of their journey and wishes them the best in Japan.
