Courtesy Visit to Brigadier General John Cogbill

On September 26, 2025, Head Consul Hamada paid a courtesy visit to Brigadier General John Cogbill, Commanding General of the 11th Airborne Division and United States Army in Alaska.
Brig. Gen. Cogbill welcomed Head Consul Hamada and provided an overview of the division’s Alaskan mission and its strategic importance to Arctic defense. The two discussed ongoing and future areas of Japan-U.S. defense cooperation in Alaska, particularly in light of upcoming joint training opportunities.
Head Consul Hamada expressed appreciation for the continued collaboration between Japanese and U.S. forces, and stressed the importance of continuing to strengthen the bond between the two countries to ensure continued peace and prosperity in the Arctic.
