Meeting with Ketchikan Mayor & Sister City Exchange Leaders

On October 21st, Head Consul Hamada paid a courtesy call to Ketchikan Mayor Bob Sivertsen and the KGK Exchange Commission.
Ketchikan shares a deep sister-city relationship with Gero/ Kanayama in Gifu Prefecture, Japan. The two have hosted a student exchange program almost every year since 1986 through the Ketchikan-Gero-Kanayama Exchange Commission. Head Consul Hamada met with Ketchikan Mayor Bob Sivertsen and with Ashley Glenn, president of the KGK. He learned more about the history of the KGK and of Japanese-American families in Ketchikan’s past.
The Consular Office looks forward to future cooperation with the City and Borough of Ketchikan.
