Meeting with the Saxman Tribe of Alaska

On October 21st, 2025, Head Consul Kiyohiko Hamada met with representatives from the Saxman Tribe of Alaska. In attendance were ANB Grand Vice President Woodrow Watson, and Mayor Frank Seludo.
Head Consul Hamada expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to learn more about the Saxman Tribe of Alaska and their continued efforts to revitalize their culture through art, totem pole carving, and extensive efforts to preserve and revitalize their language. Head Consul Hamada spoke about the Indigenous Ainu people of Hokkaido, and how similar their culture is to the Tlingit and Haida people.
The Consular Office of Japan looks forward to future cooperation with the Saxman Tribe of Alaska.
