Meeting with Representative Donna Mears

On December 11, 2025, Head Consul Hamada hosted a visit from Alaska State Representative Donna Mears at the Consular Office in Anchorage.
Representative Mears spoke about her priorities for the next legislative session, as well as her role on the Energy/ Resources Committees and thoughts on the current state of Alaska LNG and mineral ventures. Discussion was also centered on education funding, renewable energies, and how to approach the challenges being faced in balancing a sustainable budget for Alaska.
The Consular Office of Japan looks forward to future cooperation with Representative Mears.
