On January 16th, Head Consul Hamada paid a courtesy call to Palmer Mayor Jim Cooper.
Palmer, Alaska shares a deep sister-city relationship with Saroma, Japan. The two have been connected since the late 70’s when two HAM radio enthusiasts from each community began communicating, and their bond has only grown stronger since. At their meeting, Consul Hamada and Mayor Cooper discussed local issues in Palmer and the vibrant Japanese program at Palmer’s high school.
The Consular Office looks forward to future cooperation with the City of Palmer.
