Head Consul Hamada and Consular Office staff recently met with President John Sims of ENSTAR Natural Gas Company in Anchorage to discuss Alaska’s energy future, including the Alaska LNG project, energy security, infrastructure modernization, and opportunities for future cooperation between Alaska and Japan.
The meeting highlighted the growing strategic importance of reliable energy supply for Alaska’s communities, military installations, and potentially emerging tech industries as South Central Alaska is entering a period of natural gas shortage.
