Meeting with Polar LNG

On Thursday, May 28th Head Consul Kiyohiko Hamada and staff from the Consular Office of Japan in Anchorage visited Polar LNG’s offices in Anchorage for discussions regarding LNG development, Arctic energy logistics, and potential future Japan-Alaska energy cooperation opportunities.
The meeting with Polar LNG Executive Vice President Jim Smith included discussion on North Slope gas development, Arctic shipping routes, regional energy security, and the long-term strategic role Alaska may play in supplying energy to Asia-Pacific markets.
Our office will continue to observe developments in Alaska’s LNG sector.
