2026 JET Program Pre-departure Orientation and Farewell Dinner
On Friday, July 31st, the Consular Office of Japan held an orientation for the 2026 Official JET Program USA participants from Alaska. This year, four lucky Alaskans began their journey to Japan with an orientation that prepared them for the first few days of their trip, stories and experiences from local JET alumni, teaching tips they can use in the classroom, and a fond farewell from our office the night before their flight abroad.
JET Program Participants will be assigned to schools throughout Japan, including kindergartens, elementary schools, junior high schools, and high schools, assisting Japanese Teachers of English (JTEs) and supporting English language education in classrooms.
Congratulations to this year’s cohort! We wish you the best in Japan! The Consular Office of Japan in Anchorage will continue to support the activities and achievements of JET Program Participants and the JET Alumni Association (JETAA). Applications for the next group of JET Program participants will open in the fall! Our office will also participate in career fairs and other outreach events to promote the JET Program, so if you are interested in applying or would like more information, we encourage you to contact us!
