Meeting with Senator James Kaufman

On September 29th, 2026, Head Consul Hamada hosted a visit from Alaska State Senator James Kaufman at the Consular Office in Anchorage.
Senator Kaufman talked about his priorities for the next legislative session, as well as his perspectives on the current state of Alaska LNG and Alaska’s budgetary situation. The two also discussed his insights on the upcoming November midterm elections occurring across Alaska, and the possibilities for further Japan-Alaska cooperation in the future.
The Consular Office of Japan looks forward to future cooperation with Senator Kaufman.
