On August 5, Head Consul Hamada paid a courtesy call to Anchorage Mayor Suzanne LaFrance.
Head Consul Hamada opened by congratulating LaFrance on becoming mayor of Anchorage. Mayor LaFrance gave a brief outline of her goals as leader of Anchorage such as building a team that is transparent and accountable and working with partners to make housing affordable.
Final preparations were made for the Chitose delegation’s visit to Anchorage whereupon they will celebrate 55 years as sister cities.
The Consular Office looks forward to continued cooperation with Mayor LaFrance and the Municipality of Anchorage.
