2024/5/1
On April 30, 2024, Head Consul Hamada paid a courtesy visit to the Governor of Alaska Mike Dunleavy.
Mr. Hamada and Governor Dunleavy exchanged opinions on several topics such as: past visits to Japan, Alaska LNG, increasing trade between Japan and Alaska, and the Alaska Legislature. Mr. Hamada thanked Governor Dunleavy for his exceeding desire to strengthen relations between Japan and Alaska. Alaska will continue to play a vital role in shoring up Japan’s economic needs due to its proximity and the sheer volume of natural resources, minerals, and seafood it has to offer. Governor Dunleavy ended the meeting by saying Alaska has no stronger friend than the Japanese.
The Consular Office of Japan in Anchorage thanks Governor Dunleavy for his admiration of Japan and looks forward to future cooperation with him and his staff.
