On October 10, Mr. Aniya exchanged opinions with Mr. Chris Price, CEO of the Qawalangin Tribe of Unalaska.
 
Mr. Price said that when the Japan Self-Defense Force training fleet made a port call at Unalaska in June. During the visit, there was a concert hosted by the Japanese Self-Defense Force band with a local performance at the Unalaska Parks and Recreation Cultural Center, where origami and drawing sessions were also held. Locals were given a tour of the ship and there was a VIP luncheon held on the ship that consisted of Japanese cuisine. In attendance were representatives of the Qawalangin Tribe of Unalaska, the City of Unalaska, the Ounalashka Corporation, and the United States Coast Guard. 
 
He expressed his great pleasure and gratitude for the training fleet's port call. In addition, Mr. Price said that Unalaska is home to some of the world's leading seafood processing plants (Westward Seafoods, Alyeska Seafood Inc., UniSea Inc., and Trident Seafoods), and that a delegation from the Aleutian Islands visited Japan 30 years ago to observe the Tokyo fish market situation in Japan, where fish are exported globally, and that he would like to continue promoting exchanges in the future.
 
Mr. Aniya said that he was very happy that the training fleet's port visit was welcomed by the people of Unalaska, and that the “Online Arctic Symposium'' will be held in November to discuss Japan-Alaska cooperation in various fields, including fisheries. He welcomed Unalaska people's attendance and stated that the previous symposium had the participation of the Alaska Federation of Natives and the Chitose Ainu Association, and that the promotion of people-to-people exchanges was also discussed.
