Meeting with the Alaska Travel Industry Association (ATIA)

On May 28th, 2024, the Consular Office of Japan in Anchorage met with Jillian Simpson, Tanya Carlson, and Jeff Samuels from the Alaska Travel Industry Association (ATIA), and Ruth Rosewarne Kimerer from Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport to discuss enhancing tourism connections between Alaska and Asia.
Head Consul Hamada, participated in a dynamic conversation covering potential non-stop flights between Anchorage and Tokyo, winter tourism development, and marketing strategies to attract Japanese tourists. The meeting emphasized the importance of revitalizing Alaska’s tourism image and exploring new direct flight routes to strengthen ties and boost mutual tourism opportunities between Japan and Alaska.
