The Consular Office of Japan in Anchorage held an online "Japan-Alaska Sister City - Town Pride FESTA (Presentation/Judgment Event)" on January 26th, and after the event, we received letters of joy from the winners and organizations of the event.
The first letter was from the volunteer team of Teshio Town, which won first place in this event. From Teshio Town, which has a sister city relationship with Homer City, Alaska, we received an article of the Hokkaido Shimbun expressing their joy, saying, “This was a good opportunity for people to know that there is a wide variety of topics to choose from in Teshio Town.''

The second letter was from the Jujiro Wada Memorial Association (Secretary General Mr. Mikio Ueoka), who was awarded the Japan-Alaska Historical Hero Award at the event. We received a newspaper article expressing the joy of Mr. Ueoka, Executive Director, who said, “I owe this award to the Mikan-Ichiza and people of the local residents. I will continue honoring activities rooted in the community.''
