JET Program Presentations at Palmer High School

On March 18, the Consular Office of Japan in Anchorage was invited to give Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Program presentations to the Japanese language classes at Palmer High School. Ms. Carla Swick, Japanese Language Teacher at Palmer High School, extended the invitation and organized the online presentations for her four classes. Mr. Adam Weinert, the JET Program Coordinator for the Consular Office of Japan in Anchorage conducted the presentations, which included information about the employment positions offered in the JET Program, living in Japan, and eligibility requirements for applicants. Mr. Weinert’s presentation included discussion for how Palmer High School students can begin to prepare themselves today to apply for the JET Program in the future.
Additionally, representatives from the JET Alumni Association – Alaska Chapter gave presentations, and shared photos, of their experience in Japan on the JET Program. JETAA Alaska Chapter President Ms. Mari Reuter and JETAA Alaska Chapter Treasurer Ms. Lea Reuter gave presentations for the Palmer High School classes.
