Japanese film screening at the University of Alaska Fairbanks
2023/3/22
A Japanese film screening was held at the University of Alaska Fairbanks on Friday, March 10th, and Consul Nishizawa from the Consular Office of Japan in Anchorage attended the event.
Japanese learners gathered on the day of the event, and a small number of university staff members also attended. Hokkaido University exchange students also participated and the event became a place for friendship between Japanese and American youths. At the beginning, Dr. Henry, the co-organizer of this event, gave a briefing to the students about the historical background of Japan and the religious values of the time, followed by a screening and survey answering. Some students made very positive comments saying its more deep understanding for the history and culture of Japan deepened more, and others saying getting interested in the student exchange programs.
We, hoping that such opportunities will strengthen the friendly and cooperative relationship between Japan and the United States, would like to continue cultural events in local city of Alaska State.
