Implementation of "Japan-Alaska Sister Cities Town Pride Festa"

The Consular Office in Anchorage, in an effort to cheer up the citizens and organizations of the Japan-Alaska sister cities and support the activities of local citizens and cultural groups, is holding the "Japan-Alaska Sister Cities Town Pride Festa", where a wide range of original "town pride" works from the sister cities can be submitted.
(Qualification requirements)
・Citizens, cultural groups, etc. living in Japan-Alaska sister cities
(People from cities in Japan and Alaska other than sister cities are also welcome)
・ Must be an original work
(Theme and medium of solicited works)
The theme is “Works by citizens and organizations of the Japan-Alaska, that emphasize ‘town pride’ and introduce shopping streets, tourist attractions, traditional arts, culture, etc. of the town they live in,'' and there are no restrictions on the medium of the work.
(Example) Paintings/illustrations, photographs+essay, models, music, video,
theater, dance, cooking, etc.
(Application method)
・Paintings, illustrations, photographs, flower arrangements, sculptures, etc.
Please take a picture of your work and send it to our email address along with the attached form (pubcul-ak@se.mofa.go.jp).
・Theatre, dance, music works, etc.
Please upload the video (2 - 4 minutes) of your work to YouTube, etc., and send the URL to our email address (pubcul-ak@se.mofa.go.jp) along with the attached form.

When sending the above, using the submission form, please include a brief explanation of the work.
(Application period)
From October 12 (Thu), 2023 to January 19 (Fri), 2024
(Selection of excellent works)
Around the end of January 2024, a "Presentation/judging event" will select the best works from among those submitted and award them luxurious prizes. Once the schedule and other details of the screening meeting are decided, details will be made available on our Facebook page and Consular Office home page.

Please note that works that are considered inappropriate for this event, such as those that are sexual, violent, or solely for advertising/commercial purposes, will be excluded from consideration.
